For Water Mitigation Services After One of Your Pipes Leak Inside Your Garner Home Call SERVPRO

Whenever a pipe breaks inside your house in Garner, moisture can starts to flow at the source, and then it can follow gravity and your walls and floors to travel to other places. Once H2O starts to build up on your flooring, it can then begin to soak into your drywall and other wall coverings from the bottom up.

How can you remove moisture from my walls?

During water mitigation efforts in Garner, our SERVPRO technicians work towards removing moisture as quickly as possible so that we can save your building materials and contents. If your drywall or other wall coverings get wet, they could lose their structural integrity and have to be replaced. But, if we can dry out your walls quickly enough, we can prevent secondary issues such as mold growth from occurring.

Is it possible to dry out and save my wallpaper?

    •    Wallpaper Construction- Wallpaper can be semi-porous or non-porous and constructed from vinyl, paper, linen, or cloth, although vinyl is the most common.
    •    Initial Inspection- Paper and cloth wallpaper can retain moisture, but the actual moisture content can be difficult to determine because the material is so thin. A non-penetrating moisture meter can be used to tell which portions of the wall got wet behind the wallpaper.
    •    Restorability- Wallpaper can be restored in most situations if it is exposed to category one or two water. If wallpaper contacts category three or black water such as moisture coming from the ground or a sewage line, it cannot be restored because of the substrate to which the material is applied.
    •    Drying Procedures- The best way to dry out wallpaper is to dry the wall it is attached to from behind by removing the baseboard and drilling holes into the drywall. We can then use an injection drying system to pump air into your wall cavities.
