SERVPRO Uses Professional Techniques to Clean and Restores Drapery in Raleigh Homes
If your Raleigh home has experienced water intrusion that has damaged your drapes, SERVPRO can help. We not only clean and restore your home's structure but the contents as well.
Does the fabric type matter?
Our staff of the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) trained technicians are experts at what they do. If you have water damage to your drapes in your Raleigh residence, the first step is inspecting them. Different types of fabrics require different cleaning methods. Some things you need to keep in mind:
• Cleaning may harm old, fragile drapes
• Newer curtains, 1 – 2 years old, tend to clean well
• Sunlight and moisture from time may have caused damage
Keeping Your Drapes Hanging Around
If possible, SERVPRO will clean your drapes to their former state. Once the pretests and inspections take place, then the method of cleaning gets determined. All drapery goes through some necessary cleaning before more in-depth cleaning gets done. It includes:
• Dry brushing with a dry brush sponge
• Vacuuming – can remove up to 79% soil
There are two types of cleaning for drapery. Both usually take place while the drapes are hanging but may be removed from fixtures if needed.
• Machine Dry Cleaning
• Hot Water Extraction
The most common onsite method of cleaning drapes is the machine dry cleaning. If water damage has occurred and your drapery is wet, this method will not get used. Even if they are dry, it doesn't get used if they are heavily soiled. The hot water extraction process is similar to the dry-cleaning process but uses solvents and detergents mixed with hot water.
You may think there is no restoring your drapes, but that isn't always the case. Contact SERVPRO of Southeast Raleigh / Garner at (919) 615-1179 for quality water damage service that is Faster to Any Size Disaster.
